Northwood Choral Society - a local choir for all singers!
Winter concert 2017: NCS singers with musical director Julie Bale (middle), pianist David Smith, soloists Stuart Pendred and Scarlett Brett (left)
Do you like singing? Please come and sing with us!
We are an amateur choir of about twenty five singers from around Hillingdon and warmly welcome new members! The choir was founded in 1973 as Trinity Music Society and became Northwood Choral Society in 2008.
During each season we rehearse and perform a variety of mainly classical choral music (see past concerts) in one of Northwood's churches or their halls, aiming to make our concerts enjoyable for both audiences and performers. We give two major concerts, one in winter and one in spring, as well as a summer concert with music in a lighter vein.
Each July some of our choir members join the Sussex Festival Choir to perform in the beautiful setting of Arundel Cathedral a major choral work: in July 2018 we sang Mendelssohn's Elijah. Throughout the year we hold enjoyable fund-raising and social events, including choral workshops, quiz suppers & barbeques.
Our spring concert will feature Durufle Requiem, Bruckner Motets as well as music by Bach & Mendelssohn
For more details as well as information about the whole (and the next) season please go to Concerts & events.
